Does anyone know if this system, sold in Apple Store, can handle 400Mbps WiFi?

iPad mini, iOS 9

The actual product specifications for the Velop System state........."527 Mbps at 15 feet" .......so assuming that your Internet service provider is actually supplying a 400 Mbps Internet connection......AND......the WiFi device picking up the WiFi signal is in the same room or very close proximity to one of the Velop mesh units, you will have 400+ Mbps speeds.

BUT......if there are obstructions......like walls, ceilings, heavy furniture, etc......in the signal path between the Velop unit and the WiFi device, the speeds will slow down significantly for that connection.

While the Linksys Velop system is sold by Apple, Apple will not provide set up or service support for the system. You will need to contact Linksys directly for support and service. So, unless the Apple Store has a better price on the Velop System than other outlets, there is not really any advantage in purchasing the products through Apple, unless you simply want to buy from Apple.

Apple also sell Netgear Orbi and the Eero system (which I think is owned by Amazon now).

Do a careful check of reviews as mesh systems can seem easy but actually not work so well.. I have just had one user here very upset with the Velop.

Also if you own the house do consider the improvement in using ethernet. It is expensive to install but long term will provide hugely better system than mesh routers will offer.
