I got an alert that my iPhone had 3 viruses and instead of checking first, I downloaded the VPN app. Did downloading the app compromise me in any way? I subsequently deleted the app and cancelled the subscription and cleared History and Website Data in Safari.

I realized I said my problem was solved but now I’m thinking that I did enter my password for my AppleID when I got directed to download the VPN app. By doing this, did I compromise my AppleID? I already use two-factor authentication for my AppleID.

No, downloading the app did not compromise the phone. However, note that all such messages are scams. Never, never, never download anything based on such bogus messages.

An iPhone can't get a virus.
If you downloaded the app from the App Store, it shouldn’t be an issue.
If you were directed to download the bogus app from some website, I would defiantly recommend changing your password.
