Music won't play after upgrading to Catalina 10.15.7

I updated my OS to Catalina 10.15.7 yesterday and now Music isn't working. I can open Music and see my library but when try to play any song or playlist nothing happens. The control changes from "play" to "pause" but the time marker won't progress beyond 0:00. If I manually drag the time indicator to mid-song nothing happens. I've rebooted twice with no effect. Did the last update break the Music app?

The situation has (mostly) resolved. After a few minutes, Music displayed the error "Can not connect to Apple TV 3." Shortly after, it connected to my Apple TV 3 and music played. I wish it would give me clearer indication earlier rather than simply being unresponsive and not working.
