how can i upgrade my office 365 subscription from personal to home / family. I tried to amend my personal subscription, but I only get the option to cancel. If I cancel and re-subscribe to home / family, will I still retain all my email files etc?

Thank you for this, very helpful! Just one extra question; the checkout is through microsoft, but my current 365 personal appears through iTunes, will it all link together when I upgrade. (sorry I'm not a techie!)

From that link you'll want to choose Billing & Subscriptions > Subscriptions & Purchases > View, change, or cancel subscriptions. From there you should see a few options to reach out, depending on your location.
