Migration Assistant hasn't worked

I've used Migration Assistant to move everything from my old 2012 Imac to my new one. But it hasn't moved across all my Office for Mac programmes, email accounts, dropbox app and Google chrome (my default browser, and bookmarks. Also it seems to have gobbled up a huge amount (201gb) of my SSD storage, showing under the storage tab as "other". Any ideas?

If you cannot find your data per BDAqua's suggestion please read below.

There are many ways to execute Migration Assistant. The most reliable and quickest method is to connect the old Mac's Time Machine EHD to the new Mac using a USB cable. Once connected launch MA and follow the on screen prompts.

How did you do it?

Also, professional apps such as MS Office and Adobe's pro apps normally need to be re-installed.
