Figured out the option for different wi-fi, but since the poor wi-fi is my home, not easy. It's a shame there's no way to icloud via my desktop mac?
Is your desktop Mac not using the same WiFi?
Yes and no. Desktop hard wired to modem - significantly faster that wi-fi, so i'm assuming might work if there was a way, which apparently there is not.
What is the speed you are getting on the computer? You can make your computer an ad hoc WiFi network but before going through the trouble check the speed on both your iPhone and your Mac.
I can make my computer a "hotspot"? Is there a link to the steps involved?
