Remove Itunes cloud from phone but also keep Apple Music

How can I remove the itunes cloud from my phone but also keep apple music? I also want to manually

manage my music on my phone. I have 1000's of songs in itunes that now appear

in the icloud. If I'm looking for a song on my phone I don't want to navigate through

all of these songs, I want to scroll through the 40-50 or so I might actually have

on my phone. I have tried disabling sync library but that causes other issues.

It doesn’t allow me to create new playlists and it doesn’t allow me to download

music to my phone.

All I want is to pick and choose what songs I see on my phone and what songs I don’t.

Hi arembr01,

You mentioned that you are an Apple Music member and the problem is that you have so many songs that it takes too long to look for the music you want. Have you tried organizing within Apple Music, since your collection has been added to your iCloud Music Library with your Apple Music membership?

This resource tells you the details on how you can create an organize playlists on your iPhone: Create playlists on iPhone

If that’s not what you’re looking for, let’s make sure “iCloud Music Library” is disabled in: Settings > Music. You’ll want all of the toggles on that page to be in the off position. Then you should be able to add music to a playlist, independent of Apple Music. Here’s how to download your past music purchases directly: Redownload music

Have a good day!

Hi there arembr01,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. Being able to manage your music library for ease of use is important and we’re happy to assist.

It sounds like your library is currently set up to sync across your devices. To change that, you can follow the steps listed here, but in reverse: Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music

On your iPhone, go into Settings > Music, and disable the toggle next to “Sync Library.” We hope this helps.

Take Care!

I don't have the option of "Sync Library" I have the following Show Apple Music, Add Playlist Songs, icloud Music Library, Cellular Data and other things I don't think are relevant to my issue.

If I disable "iCloud Music Library" then it deletes everything off my phone. Which is fine, I would just recreate a playlist. However once I try and add a song to the playlist it tells me I have to turn on icloud Music Library.

I don't want icloud Music Library because I don't want my itunes music library on my phone. I only want the songs I want on my phone.

Since I don't have "Sync Library" as an option, please tell me what I can do. IOS 12.4.8 Iphone 6

Update: On my work phone I see "Sync Library" as an option. If I disable it I run into the same issue. It will not allow me to add songs to a playlist unless I turn it on. Please help me because I'm at the point where I want to cancel Apple Music and switch to Amazon just to avoid this.

I'm not sure if you understand, when I disable 'iCloud Music Library" it does remove my itunes library from my phone. However it creates a new problem, it will allow me to create a playlist, but it will not allow me to go to the music app on my phone and add any songs to that playlist via apple music nor will it allow me to add songs to my phone.

I don't want itunes on my computer to share anything with my phone unless I manually move it over. This is so frustrating, please let me know how I can fix this.
