Itunes fails to download an iphone update it tells you is available

What is the issue when itunes tells you an update is available (14.0.1) but when you agree to download it, the download does not happen and there are no error messages? Windows 10 user.

It appears that you're having a problem using iTunes for Windows to update your iPhone to iOS 14.0.1. After you agree to the Terms & Conditions, the update doesn't download. We understand how important it is to keep your iPhone updated, and we're glad to help with this.


Download and use iTunes for Windows - Apple Support -- In iTunes for Windows, see if there's an update available by clicking Help/Check for updates. Also, make sure you've got a strong Wi-Fi connection before trying again.


If iTunes for Windows is up to date, restart your Windows PC and see if the update for your iPhone will download once your PC's back to the desktop.
