Using OSX 10.14.6 and iOS 14.0.1. and everything is up to date.
I connect my iPhone to my iMac I get "Software Update is required".
When I try to download and install I get a "Can't download software because of a network problem"
I know it's not an issues with my LAN because it's working fine.
Any ideas on what's going on?
There was an uninstalled update that had update for Safari and I installed that.
After that finished the iPhone/iTunes update installed and is working.

Did this happen after the 2020-005 SecUpd for Mojave?
Try reinstalling this in Safe Mode, but not using Firefox...

Have you applied the Supplemental Update to Mojave. There might be something in this Supplemental Update that allows iTunes to sync to iPhone running iOS 14.01
It could be an Apple Server issue but that is a guess. Try again at a later time?
Yes, everything is up to date.
