Like someone else said, it’s an open API, so Spotify can support it. They’ll probably support it just as much as they support streaming on the Apple Watch (that is to say, it’s been years and they still have yet to do so).

It can, but it's not confirmed yet. It's an open API, so it's up to Spotify if and when they want to add support for it.

Where are you getting that info from? From what I know it will support Amazon music and Pandora in a few months but no plans to support Spotify which is why I’m not buying it
I believe he’s inferring it will, since airplay 2 is supported meaning you could cast over to it but wouldn’t be able to use Siri to control anything.
