are you at 10.15.7 or an earlier version of catalina. when i upgraded, my login screen pic matches whatever pic i have set as my desktop pic. while on 10.15.6 it was the default catalina pic no matter what the desktop was set to.
the only other idea i have would be to verify that you for sure are on 10.15.7.

if you are already there, you should wait for more answers from other members here. maybe there are some terminal commands you can use to make it work. i don't have any other ideas as i didn't have to do anything to make it work.

Yeah my laptop is 10.15.7 iOS does this mean it should work?
i would say that it should. it didn't start matching until i upgraded to 10.15.7 and i didn't have to change any settings or anything. it just automatically started matching up.
