iCloud and FaceTime must be logged into same ID

Not completely sure how this has happened, but can only assume that I used a different Apple ID with my very first IPhone.

I’ve recently purchased an IPad and new IPhone 11 and when attempting to receive messages or Phone calls thru FaceTime I receive an error informing me that ICloud and FaceTime must be logged into the same Apple ID. The only problem is, I don’t know what ID facetime and iMessage are linked too.. or why it is even possible for this to happen when the phone is logged into a different AppleID for everything else? Is this something between Apple and my Carrier?

thanks

Settings, FaceTime -> scroll down and see what the blue text “AppleID” indicates is logged in. For iCloud, go to settings, tap your account at the top, and check which Appleid is signed in there. If they are different, sign the FaceTime AppleID out and sign back in with whatever AppleID is being used in iCloud.
