Time asleep and time in bed

I’m using my Apple Watch series 6 to log my sleep. When I use the health app to view my sleep it shows that I’ve been asleep longer than I’ve been in bed. How’s this possible or am I looking at it wrong?

Hello cdowkes,

We can see from the screenshots the average time in bed is a bit less than the average time asleep. We know it's important to have the correct information showing, and we're happy to help you.

Please make sure both your Apple Watch and iPhone have the latest software versions installed:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Update your Apple Watch

If you already have the latest versions installed, restart both devices:

Restart your iPhone

How to restart your Apple Watch

If the same issues continue, toggle Sleep off and back on again. These steps will guide you: Track your sleep with Apple Watch

Please let us know if you need more help. We're here for you.

Cheers!
