How to see which iOS version on a iPhone backup to Computer ?

Hello fellows,

I've got a backup of my iPhone I made on my computer (second one).

Is there a way I can check which iOS version this backup is ? Or check from which iOS version it was made?

Finally, is there a way to "secure" this back up to make sure iTunes or else does not overwrite with a new backup ?

Thanks,

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.12

Hello napo23,

We understand you would like to know how to view the contents of a backup file in addition, you would like to secure the backup. While you may view or access a backup file's contents, the contents usually aren't stored in a format that you can read. The iOS version should be the same as the date the backup was created. We have a great article that can show you how to copy backups to another location if needed. Check it out:

Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.
