Does iphone update workout app without watch?

I went for a workout with my phone but didn’t wear my watch. I can see the steps in the health app, but it doesn’t update my rings. Can someone explain how to get the steps to show onto the rings? I have iPhone X and Apple Watch version 6

iPhone Health App Steps Not Syncing with Watch Fitness Steps? I forgot my Apple Watch this morning and just had my phone for half the day. I was able to get over 5k steps that showed up in the Health app on my phone. I was able to pickup my watch at lunch and thought at least the step count would sync with my Watch in Fitness but they aren't. It seems like this would happen in the past. Anything I'm forgetting or a quick way to force them to sync? Using iPhone 12 Pro Max iOS on 16.0.2 / Apple Watch SE 1st gen on 9.1.

Apple Watch activity rings I am unable to wear my Apple Watch while i work at Starbucks. I am constantly moving while I am there, but only able to track it with my phone in my pocket through the health app. Is there a way to sync my health app on my phone to fill my watch circles when I can’t wear it?

Any steps recorded with the phone go straight into the health app on the phone they are nothing to do with the watch.
