Error in apple configurator 2 when restoring devices

when attempting to retore Depped IOS devices on apple configurator 2,

we are getting the error The operation couldn’t be completed. (AMRestoreErrorDomain error 10 - Failed to handle message type StatusMsg) [AMRestoreErrorDomain – 0xA (10)]

this error appears to be back again, a year after bieng 'solved' anyone got any way to fix it as the upgrade to catalina fix, does not appear to work.

manually doing this one at a time with itunes works, but we need a faster solution.
