Resend email moves recipient to cc and addresses email to me

Hi,

Is there a way to change what seems to be an illogical behaviour in the mail app?

Far too frequently after sending an email I have to follow up because I haven’t received a reply.

To do this, i find the sent email and select reply all, but it addresses the response to me and puts the original recipient in the cc so I have to delete my name and drag the recipients name to the to field.

The resend email option is not the solution as it brings up the exact original email as if it were being sent for the first time without the details showing it was sent a previous time, so to the recipient it looks like a new email rather than a follow up.

With every other mail client I have used, the reply all function is what is used by default for this situation and when used it addresses the email to the original recipient in the to field rather than cc and does not try to include me as a addressee. As an example, at my work we use outlook and this is the behaviour when I use reply all (which sadly I have to use almost daily).

What I want is to adjust the settings so that reply all addresses the email to the original addressee and not to to.

Is anyone able to advise on this?

Thank you
