Screen burn-in on iPhone 11 with Liquid Retina HD display

I have noticed Screen Burn-in on my iPhone's display. It usually takes about 2 minutes of the screen displaying the same thing for this to occur. It does then eventually fade away in few hours.

I have checked the same thing on iPhone XR and it’s OK, no any issues with its screen. And of course I have the latest iOS installed.

Is it normal for this to happen on the regular iPhone 11?

Thanks.

Hi, SeriousMax.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We’re glad you decided to reach out about the display on your iPhone 11. If we understand correctly, after your iPhone stays on the same image for a couple of minutes it seems like it displays remnants of the picture on your screen for a few hours.

You may be experiencing a behavior sometimes called “image persistence” that can occur with the newer technology of our displays. It’s expected that the display show a faint remnant of a high contrast image that is continuously displayed for a prolonged period of time. Your iPhone is designed to use the brightness aspect of your display to reduce those visual effects, but as your iPhone display ages it may experience reduced brightness levels as it ages, which will reduct the effects that Apple has put into place to counter the image persistence from the newer display.

Hello. Thanks for your reply, but I think you didn't read my post carefully. I have a regular iPhone 11 with only two cameras and an IPS display, not OLED. So it's weird to see an afterimage issue right after a few minutes of static screen. And my iPhone is only 5 months old, so it's not that old, is it?

Will Apple replace my device's screen or the whole device if I contact support?
