Transfer file folders from computer to iphone

G’day,

On my Android phone I can connect to my computer via usb and transfer whole folders of files between my phone and computer simply and easily. Is this possible on the iphone?

One obvious option would be to use idrive for the transfer but my folder directory is too large (30 odd GB).

thanks

Hi brendon264,

It looks like you're trying to share a large file from your computer to your iPhone. Making sure your file is accessible on your mobile device so you can have it on the go is a great feature mobile devices offer. We're glad you reached out for help. There are a couple options available for sharing your files from your computer to your iPhone.

The resource below will detail what steps you can do to share your files.

Use iTunes to share files between your computer and your iOS or iPadOS device

We hope this helps with the specific file you're trying to transfer.

Have a good day!

Thanks for the reply, though the solution isn’t quite what I’m after.

I have multiple files contained within a complete tree of folders to keep them organised. It is that folder structure and the files within that I’m wanting to store on my iPhone.

From what I can see with iTunes you can only share individual files to specific applications on the iPhone which means you loose the folder structure. This also becomes very difficult to do manual backups to a computer or external hard drive.
