Backup deleted everything

I tried to backup my iphone last night but when i did so all of my apps started to not work and when i tried a hard reset, trying to turn it on and off it got stuck on the apple logo and wouldn’t turn back on. When i eventually got it back on through using itunes on my computer it went back to factory settings and my photos from 2018-now are all gone. But my ones before 2018 are still there. All my apps were deleted too but i’ve downloaded those again, is there any way to get my pictures back?

iPhone 11, iOS 14

Hello Cody_Hall,

It sounds like you're wanting to recover photos that was recently lost through backing up and restoring. Was the backup done on iCloud? Do you use iCloud Photos to store your photos?

If the backup was done on a computer using iTunes or Finder, and you don't use iCloud Photos, you may be able to recover the data from that backup. You can see how to restore your iPhone from an iTunes backup here:

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

If you use iCloud Photos, you can navigate to www.icloud.com on a computer browser and see if you can find the photos there.

With iCloud backups, photos are not included in that backup, if you cannot find those photos on the website, you may want to contact Apple Support:
