How to change the “move discarded messages into:” setting?

Hello community,

I want to change settings to my google emails to move discarded messages not to the “archive mailbox”, but to the “deleted mailbox” in the “Mail” app. However, everytime i change this setting and restart the settings app, it simply goes back and nothing changes. I tried to restart my iPhone, it didn’t help. What should i do?

After selecting Deleted Mailbox, tap < Account in the top-left corner, followed by Done in the top-right corner.

I don’t really know, i use 3 e-mails. One is from our czech site “seznam” and it was pre-set (i think that’s the word? i learn english at school so i’m not exactly a pro) to discard messages to the deleted messages. But my school mail was gmail and it was so annoying to search everytime for the deleted messages, because the main opinion was archive so i just went to change it. I’m so sorry if my english is chaotic, i hope it is at least understandable...
