how can i obtain the icloud back up specifically for imessages backed up when phone backup turned off

There was a back up including imessage before all back ups were turned off. Apple says the imessage is automatically stored when iphone imessage setting are turned off. Help?

If this feature was turned off -- Keep all your messages in iCloud - Apple Support, then you can possibly restore your messages from a backup.
