No warning, just restarted from sleep mode (because it doesn't like to wake up sometimes) and the screen is bugging OUT. I plugged another monitor into a thunderbolt jack and that works fine.

What temperatures does this App report? Especially the GPU.
This App can be used to speed up the fans, all my iMacs would be dead without it.
Never ever ever drop fan speeds below the speed that the Mac itself is calling for.

Considering it's age, if the Apple Authorized Service Provider says it's the GPU, just buy a new one. It would require a complete logic board replacements the GPU is integrated into that board.
Then you next step is to take it to your local Apple Authorized Service Provider to be professionally diagnosed. What year is the computer from?

Thanks for your response but I have no idea how to blow out the intakes. If this were a nomally designed computer, I could do it easily, so I'll have to do some research to find out how. I've never changed the cooling fan speeds, no.
It's easy, remove the door the RAM is inserted into and do not blow air in, vacuum dust out. After vacuuming it then re-install the RAM door, boot the computer up again and test it. If you have the same problems, then you have a hardware issue.
