My phone says I’m up to date but my phone is on iOS 12.4.8 and didn’t give me the option to update it further. How can I fix this so I can update my phone to IOS 14?

stedman1 is correct- here is list of compatible devises. No way was it iPhone 6 then.
look at settings- general- about and look on model name. What does it say there? It will show iPhone 6 ( or whatever number it is)

Are you sure because this is the situation. I had a phone before this one that was a 6 and I had downloaded the iOS 14 on that phone and everything was Normal since. Just recently (Tuesday)
my phone was stuck on a white screen with the Apple logo in the middle ( the screen you see when u turn off and on your phone) for 2 days so I put the SIM card into a different phone which is also a 6. Now I’m on this phone and it’s saying I’m up to date on the iOS 12.4.8 but won’t give me option to update to iOS 14 Whitehead is the newest. I just don’t understand because my last phone was a 6 and got the update but this one won’t.
The iPhone 6 can not be updated beyond iOS 12.4.8.
I am 100% certain. If the previous phone updated beyond iOS 12.4.8, it was definitely not an iPhone 6 (possibly a 6S or SE).
