Verification code??

I have a question for those out there I used my email / Apple ID account for this phone I made a new one by I got a new phone the iPhone 7 it says it sent me a verification code to that email but it’s not popping up anywhere even when I resend it to the email so what do I do because I can’t use any apps or even call or download stuff .....
