MacBook Pro screen distortion - Need help/advice

Hello!

Recently my MacBook Pro (2017, 13") started having weird distortions and I'm not sure how to fix this. We've tried multiple things and some work temporarily but doesn't fix the problem, I'll list them below.

Basically I'm looking for advice on what to do next or what we can do to fix this, anything would be very much appreciated.

I'll add a picture of the issue at the bottom of the post as-well.

What we've tried (that doesn't work):

  1. Reset SMC
  2. Reset PRAM/NVRAM
  3. Run the diagnostic settings (didn't find any issues)
  4. Factory reset the MacBook Pro (First erase the disk and then install macOS all over)
  5. Changing display settings
  6. Multiple reboots

What we've tried (that temporarily fixes the issue):

  1. Booting the macbook into safe mode works for now
  2. Moving the mouse, for some reason, makes the distortion go away until I stop moving the mouse
  3. Hooking the MacBook up to an external monitor also works for some reason
  4. Closing the laptop lid and opening it back up removes the distortion for 5 seconds or so before it returns.

So I think the issue has something to do with the internal display. Not sure if it's a software related one or hardware related issue. Is repairing it at an applestore the next step for me?

I'm also puzzled by the fact that it works in safe mode but not when factory reset the Mac

Thanks!

Within few days or matter of time it will turn black and display will not return whatsoever. Lot of users are facing this issue due to the flex cable of display wearing off due to lid opening and closing.

Request you to follow, reply, support and ask for a repair program for the same like 2016 models which is live now, as all the 2017 models too have the same issue like the 2016 models.
