My iPad 7th generation cracked while charging

I’m confused, I was just using my iPad and stopped to charge it. It had only been ten minutes and I looked at my iPad to check the time. But when I opened the iPad cover, I was surprised to see that it was cracked. It was on a sturdy table, and the charger was still in its place and I was around the whole time, it just unusually cracked on the side. Nobody moved it and there was no sound, just a cracked screen. And it wasn’t the first time it happened. The same story with the exact same charger. So was that the charger or the adapter’s fault? I’m really confused right now.
