Messaging app stuck in filter mode and sometimes sticks in horizontal mode
Please advise how to fix.
is there a fix without losing my text message history?

We understand you want to remove the unknown senders filter in the Messages app. We're happy to help.
To turn that filter off just navigate to Settings 
> Messages, then turn off the Filter Unknown Senders option.
