How can I make a simple booklet or program event in pages for MacBook 2020 Catalina

How can I make a simple booklet or event program (1 page, 4 sides) with Pages for MacBook 2020 Catalina? I don’t see any template that would work.

Hi Kit,

Do you mean 1 sheet (of paper), 4 pages (front, inside left, inside right and back)?

The Photo Card (Vertical) can be used to determine the layout fo this type of booklet:

(This is from the template as it appeared in Pages 5.6.2—there may be a different version displayed now.)

Page 1 (top) of the template contains the Back Page (left) and Front page (Photo)of the card or booklet.

Page 2 (bottom) holds the left inside page (left) and right inside page(right).

The template is for a Page Layout document, so all text must be placed in text boxes or on a shape.

In the initial document, There are four text boxes on the document, containing:

  • "You're Invited" on the front page.
  • "Curator…" and
  • "Lorem ipsum…" on the inside right page
  • "Instructions for use" on the back page.

Each of the boxes can be moved, resized and reshaped, or copied and pasted to different locations on the card/booklet. The text is 'placeholder text,' and will disappear when you click in it and begin typing your text into the box.

The yellow line on the inside right page and the yellow and reddish boxes on the cover are shapes, that can also be adjusted, re-coloured, copied, or removed.

The photo is a placeholder as well, contained in a mask. Like the other elements, the container and its content can be adjusted, moved or replaced. Double clicking the photo (or a pasted in replacement) will show the extent of the actual photo and provide access to tools for adjusting the mask.

With a little experimentation, you should be able to create your booklet.

Regards,

Barry
