Default Icon for .dmg (and other disk images) Changed

All .dmg files I've downloaded for a bit now have, instead of the default icon, it shows the icon for diskimagemounter, an example is pictured below. I've already tried rebuilding the launchservices database, and that didn't help at all.

Any suggestions?

Changing custom icons for Finder and Trash I was going to change The icons for Finder and Trash and it worked for Catalina. Maybe it had increased more security on Big Sur. How do I change the icons for Finder and Trash on Big Sur?

Installing Apps By Dragging to Applications Folder Just Creates an Alias Whenever I download a dmg file for an application and double-clicked the dmg to open the file, then drag the app to the Application Folder, it now creates an Alias in the Application Folder and creates a new mount file in the Downloads Folder where the downloaded dmg file is located. This behavior started a month ago. In the past, whenever dragging an app to Application Folder, it installed the app in the Application Folder. When I open Finder, I can see the mount points in the Sidebar. If I click to eject, then click on the app alias in the Application Folder, it recreates the mount. Can anyone tell me what is happening here? How do I stop this behavior? I posted a pic below to help explain this. Thanks.

It seems like updating to Big Sur fixed the issue

Did this happen after downloading, installing and running new third-party software?

You could run it again, change it back.

Or use backup or erase and install

Or see if you can change it in "get info"?

It might have happened after running 3rd party software (I don't remember), although if it did, that software is no longer installed.

I can change the icon for each individual file in 'get info', but not the default one.
