Added to a group chat of 20 random people

Hi I’m journy and recently I was in a group chat of 20. And I don’t know any of these people. I tried to leave but there was no leave button like there usually is. And I’m a preteen so of course I’m scared I don’t know these people. I talk to the people and they don’t know what’s happening either. Can u answer theses questions plz how do I leave? Why is this happening? And is apple or at&t or a random person behind this? Please help

The only way you can leave the group chat is if every single person is an iOS user.

You can block people if they reply and hope not many actually participate.

To block a number, open the text message, tap arrow under the circle with a person graphic in it. Tap info. Tap Info again. Tap Block this Caller highlighted in Red.

You may need to do this several times, depending on how many people actually participate in the chat.

You can't be added without someone having your phone number so it is likely

Someone made a mistake and typed your number wrong
This is typical spam software / someone obtaining your number in order to mass SMS.

Also, just in-case someone else has been added without consent, I'd suggest removing the screenshots so their phone numbers (and possibly yours) aren't viewable to everyone.

Set the conversation to DND
Block the numbers within a conversation

I'm unaware if there is an option to Leave anymore, hopefully someone else can help with that if there is but I hope I've offered some assistance to help get you started.
