AU Apple Watch + Cellular in USA

I currently live in Australia and looking to buy the Watch 6 + Cellular (buy in Australia). When I move to back to the United States next year, will I be able to use the Watch with a US carrier?

But it will work as a GPS only model, and do everything the cellular mode does while your iPhone is nearby
