Catalina Monitor Arrangement Is Not Retained on Boot Up

Greetings,

I have a new 3.2 GHz Mac Mini running Catalina 10.15.7 with two BenQ SW2700PT monitors that are connected by USB-C/Display Port cables. The mini was initially set up by migrating a late 2014 mac mini connected to the same monitors. The monitors were purchased new this summer.

I have a recurring problem on boot up where the monitor arrangement is reversed on boot up requiring me to reset the monitors every time. To try and solve this issue I have done the following:

  1. Reset NVRAM (Numerous Times)
  2. Deleted the appropriate plist from the library and reset NVRAM
  3. Un plugged the computer to clear any cache memories as recommended by Apple.

All to no avail. The problem remains on each boot-up. This problem did not occur with the 2014 Mini. Please provide additional solutions.

Regards,

Kk

  1. Reverse the monitor connections and reorientation the arrangement.
  2. Go to the Mission Control Preference and uncheck all of the boxes.
  3. Make sure that one monitor is on bus 0 and the other is on bus 1.
