Mobile data is not working on my iPhone

Why can’t i call text or use internet data on my phone I tried calling my carrier to try and fix it and nothing worked

We're glad you thought to ask Apple Support Communities about the issue you're having with the cellular service on your iPhone. If you see "No Service" or "Searching" in the top bar, you'll want to follow these steps: If you see No Service or Searching on your iPhone or iPad


If instead you see the alert "Cellular Update Failed" complete these steps: If you see an Update Failed or Apple Pay Not Available alert after iOS update or restart


We also always recommend ensuring that your iPhone software, apps, and carrier settings are updated. The current software version is 14.1. Tap Settings > General > About to see if that's what you have installed. If not, back up your iPhone, then complete the updates:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Update apps or use automatic downloads


After updating the software to 14.1, tap Settings > General > About again to see if a carrier update pops up to install: Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad


If the issue continues, let us know more details:


  • What exactly happens when trying to make a call or send a text?
  • Do any alerts appear, and if so, what do they say?


The more details you can provide the better.

That's really good to know! If you've already updated your software and checked for the carrier settings update, we'll keep digging. Complete these steps, testing after each one:


  • Temporarily disable or remove any third-party security software or VPN.
  • Check Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options and make sure Low Data Mode is not enabled.
  • Reset your network settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before. So be sure you have your passwords handy before resetting. When you're ready, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
  • Check for any installed profiles, and reset APN settings: View and edit your Access Point Name (APN) on your iPhone and iPad
