Cant restore iPad after software update

Hope someone can help.

My iPad has just done an automatic software upgrade overnight. After this, my iPad is only showing a black screen but is, I'm pretty sure, charged (the charger it was plugged into is charging other devices OK). I can not close / power off and re-open iPad.

When I connect the iPad to my iMac, it shows in Finder but not in iTunes. I get the message "Your Mac has detected an iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used.".

I then select 'Restore iPad' and the iPad shows, this message:

I click 'Restore and Update'.

In Finder, what there is what appears to be a downloading symbol (see image):

and Finder shows:

This takes around 25 minutes to complete.

The symbol shown above changes to a spinning symbol:

Almost immediately, the Apple logo appears on the iPad screen. This is quickly followed by an error message on the iMac:

I have also received the error code 4014 when trying to restore.

All Apple stores at closed at the moment due to covid-19 so would greatly appreciate any assistance anyone can give.

Cheers....Scotty
