Apple Watch Series 6 - No Cellular Icon

The cellular icon is not showing up (in the control center or elsewhere) on my Apple Watch 6 so i can't actually activate on the cellular network. There is no "cellular" tab or toggle within the Apple Watch app on my iphone either. I've reset my watch (and turned off/on my iphone) but it has not solved the problem. Anyone else experience this issue?
