iPad Pro type c to hdmi

I have a type C to HDMI connector not an adapter but the connector what do I need to do other than plug in the type C to my iPad and the HDMI to the back of the TV in order to see my iPad on my TV?

If you have this adapter, you just need a hdmi (mal-male) cable:--> USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter - Apple
