update to mojave

just installed the sapphire radeon rx580 to my mac pro mid 2012.

the current os is high sierra version 10.13.6

Installing the better GPU seemed to be the fix to be able to upgrade to mojave ?

when i try to install mojave it tells me i need 10.14

I guess i didn't do enough homework on this?

Is there a way to get my current os to 10.14?

so i can install mojave?

thanks

Mac Pro, macOS 10.13

No, it sounds like you have tried to install an update for macOS Mojave,

downloaded from the Apple Support Download site this requires you to

already be running an earlier version of macOS Mojave.

To install macOS Mojave from High Sierra you need to download and install the full installer app

which is available from the App Store.

Please use Safari to access the following links do not use Firefox

How to upgrade to macOS Mojave - Apple Support

Go to Section 4 and click on Get macOS Mojave

you will be redirected to the App Store Mojave download page

it should say Get or Download.

This downloads Install macOS Mojave.app to your Applications folder.

double-clicking the app will start the installation.

The app self deletes when you install Mojave so make a copy of it

and keep it in a safe place for any future needs.

Before upgrading make a full back up of your Mac.

Check that third party apps you use have updates available for the new OS.

https://roaringapps.com

Check that your printers/ scanners etc have updated drivers and software available for the new OS.

Connect your mac to your router via cable rather than rely on WiFi.

Do not use your mac while it is downloading

and do not use any other devices that share the same internet connection.

If the App Store says ‘Open’ then it is detecting a previous download of the install app

go to the Applications folder locate Install macOS Mojave.app.

Move it to the Trash, empty the Trash.

Restart, click on the link again, the App Store should say ‘Get' or 'Download'.
