Cost to replace usb-c port on macbook retina, 12 inch 2019, replacement ports, Best Buy vs Apple repair

I just bought this 13 months ago as it is lighter for travel than my MB Pro. Not used much but the usb-c port is loose. Not broken, but no cables click in. They disconnect with a slight touch. Tried many Apple & other cables, all the same. They all do click into other usb-c things, so it is not the cables.

Anybody know how much it costs to replace it? (Labor + material. I think the part was near $20).

Also, I read this was a bit of a problem with some macbook airs. The port went bad after 6 months and the replacement went bad after 6 months; the port itself was not good quality and the replacement port was also the same poor quality. Has the replacement part been improved?

Last, has anyone used Best Buy for repairs? They are Apple Certified. I slightly prefer to drop off and pick up, rather than having UPS or other leave it on my porch all day. But not a big issue to send to Apple.

All said, I like this little thing, works well until new ones with new processors are out for awhile.

Thanks,

Tom

There are no 2019 12" Retina MacBooks. The last one was the 2107 model. Please identify/clarify the model of your Mac.

Note: The models are identified by the year of their introduction, not by the year of your purchase.
