Hi there FaceTimequestion,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you need help with the volume on your iPhone. It appears you have already tested this on the receiver and speakerphone. By chance, are you able to test and see if the issue persists while using EarPods or headphones connected to your device?
Do you have Voice over LTE turned on? To check go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options. Does it say "Voice & Data" next to Enable LTE? If so, then yes it is turned on. Go ahead and turn it off by tapping "Data Only" and test.
Do you have a case on your phone? If so, remove it and then test again. Do you have an issue with sounds from other apps?
- Make sure that the ring/silent switch is set to ring.
- Then go to Settings > Accessibility
- Tap Audio/Visual
- Slide the audio volume balance slider all the way to the right
- Go to Settings > Sound & Haptics > Ringtone
- Play a ringtone
- Check the sound coming from the receiver
Repeat the steps 1-7 above, changing the audio volume balance slider to the left instead. Next, listen to the device speaker this time instead of the receiver. Are you hearing any sound or distorted/muffled sound? Let us know.
We hope this helps!
Have a good weekend.
