Would really like to purchase the iPhone 12 Pro Max, but wondering about the mounting, charging and function of this iPhone in my car
• With no USB-C ports in my car, how would I charge the phone?
• How do I connect to CarPlay?
• Want to have a device to mount the iPhone 12 Pro Max to my vents, dashboard. Do not want anything using my cup holders.

Just cancelled my Pro Max 12 order. Was planning on using while driving for UBER in my 2017 Buick Encore with CarPlay. These posts make me nervous and I will wait a while.
Thx for your note...Thought it was me, but happy others are having similar issues. Very sad though that Apple has not prioritized the use of the 12 Pro Max in our cars. I am an UBER driver and need my phone to be very connected. charged and very visible up high and as close to my steering wheel as possible. Hope this nightmare is NOT true.

There are no cables as it uses Bluetooth and works great and the magnets hold this big phone. makes it really perfect as you don’t have to stick it in any weird phone holder and just magnets right to it.

If you do a quick search here on the forum, you will see that Ford has stated that their wireless charging bases were not designed with the iPhone in mind. It will not charge the iPhone 12 because it does not line up with the charger in the iPhone. Sorry, that is a Ford issue.
I am not using a case and my iphone 12 Max magnets perfectly to the mount and handles bumps and anything I throw at it. Just no apple play without plugging in. It definitely beats all the other crappy mounts that I have tried to have charging and no good ones with magnet holding to make it easy to get on and off.

Very hard to understand why Apple has NOT made it seamless and safe for us to mount the 12 ProMax in our cars the same way we can safely do it with previous models.
I agree. Also all sorts of problems with static and hearing aids that integrate with the iPhone. Add the lockups on the touch screen and it begs the question how good the QC was before releases
