I have a few groups set up in Contacts on my iOS device running iOS 14. when I try to send an email to a group, I get a message that says that the group has no members. But it manifestly does have members. What's up?

I found temporary work around.. Set up a new contact in your Contacts on your iPhone, or iMAC. Do not use the group contact, just a regular individual contact card.
Type the name of the group into the Company space.
Enter all the e-mails into the one e-mail space.
The format you need looks like this:
Put the person's name in " " and the email in < >. Then separate each person with a comma.
"name one" <name1@mail.com>, "name two" <name2@mail.com>,
and you are done.
To send an e-mail to the group, just type the Group name into the To: field and your iPhone will think it is a company and fill in all the addresses. The key is to separate them with commas.

Run the 14.3 update and you groups will be fixed on iOS. Groups are still broken on Big Sur 11.1 in the calendar app.
Update to IOS 14.3 and that will fix it.
iPhone SE with iOS 14.2. iPad Pro 12.9" 2nd generation with iPadOS 14.2.
Trying to use a Group in the mail app on iPadOS 14.2 results in 'No Members'.
Using the same Group in the mail app on iOS 14.2 results in the correct members.
As a work around until this apparent bug is resolved, I use the iPhone to start a draft of the message and populate the To:, CC:, BCC: as needed with the Group recipients and then save the draft which I then reopen on the iPad.
Can confirm that this 14.3 fix on iOS fixed the phone. iPad is updating now to check and make sure universally iOS is fixed. I can ALSO confirm that the fix is NOT in today 11.1 macOS Big Sur update so my Mac is still screwed.

I just solved this problem by updating to 14.3 ! ! ! Yay!
No I don’t have a solution. It has gone to USA for Apple to look at. It is an ‘unintended consequence’ of 14.2. So a bug. However I have found that sometimes when composing an email on iPhone and I manually add the first and second names of a group, the other names show as suggestions. Sorry I can’t be of more help.
iOS 14.3 beta 2 appears to solve the problem
9 to 5 Mac is reporting that IOS 14.3 will include fixing the group email issue 👍🏻👍🏻 According to them, it should be out by Monday.

I did contact apple support a couple of days ago. First person had me do a reset of my ipad but nothing changed. Her supervisor came on asked me to do a few more things and after close to an hour I. suggested I wasn't the only one having this problem that there were many, many complaints on apple user support about this same problem. Finally I guess she checked because she told me that she agreed and that apple engineers were working on the problem and apologized for the problem. Not sure how long we will have to wait patiently.
