Dual sim with one India number and the other US number

I have one international number and one US number. I want to keep the US number turned off while in India, but how does iMessage work then? on my US number? will i get charged?

Hi there, Arati192! Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. We know that having access to your messages is important while you travel and we’re happy to explain the available options. 


As it turns out, you can choose to disable a phone number from using iMessage and FaceTime. You can also enable an email address or second phone number to use with iMessage. You can find instructions for this in the following Apple Support article:
