Old iPhone 4

I have an old iPhone 4, actually my first iPhone and I really want to restore it and open it up to see old photos I have in there, but Im not sure how. The phone turns on when its charged but then I just get a screen where it tells me to connect it to iTunes. Is it still possible to retrieve those photos ?

When I plug it into my Mac, it turns on and shows me a picture of a cord plugging into iTunes. However, once I select "update" it says it's unable to update and tells me to "restore." Should I click restore? I don't want to wipe my phone and I'm pretty sure restoring will do so. Is there another way to get my old photos from that phone? Thanks!

restore (new) iphone from backup without photos There's some ancient questions about this but I'm asking again to see if this has been updated. i have a 256GB iphone 8 - most of this is photos. It's backed up. I have a new 64GB iphone 11 which I want all the settings and apps same as the iphone 8 - but I can't do a straight restore since the sizes are different. is there a way to choose what to restore from the old phone (i.e. don't restore photos)? Seems like this should be a feature?! M

Restore data My newly bought iPhone didn’t had any backup. I mistakenly deleted one photo which had important information. I tried to retrieve it using many online available tutorials. Atlast I connected to my laptop. I tried to restore photos using iTunes. Unfortunately, the iTunes in my laptop had my wife’s iPhone data. Her data synced to my phone and all data of my phone got erased. Any possibilities to restore my data especially the photos (it doesn’t have any back up).

No, it's too late now.

To reuse the iPhone you need to restore your iPhone as new using computer iTunes
