Can't delete old MacBook backup from airport time capsule

I have a new MacBook Pro and am seeking to delete the data backup of my old MacBook which still appears in my Airport Time Capsule, taking up lots of space. I thought the old backups would just be pushed out, but....

When I seek to move to Trash it says I don't have permission and to unlock. I've tried everything I know at the moment, following steps (it was already unlocked). I have no idea how to add to permissions as what I've tried won't let me.

Appreciate the assistance.

Things would be tons easier if you could consider erasing the Time Capsule hard drive.......which will only take a few minutes......and then back up your new Mac again which will take awhile.

Is that a possibility?

If not.......I have no idea how to add to permissions as what I've tried won't let me.

How many files are listed that cannot be deleted? Trying to change permissions for files that were created on an "old" Mac from a "new" Mac may not be possible if you are running Catalina 10.15.x on your new Mac.

Please list the steps that you have tried to Unlock the files and then whether you have checked to see whether they are not designated as Read Only or No Access.

If you don't want to lose any of the old data on the Time Capsule, you can always connect a USB drive to Time Capsule and copy or "archive" all of the data on Time Capsule drive over to the USB drive.......before.....you erase the Time Capsule hard drive.

After a month or so, when you find that you did not really need the old data, you can erase the USB drive and use it as a spare.
