If you are able to insert the card and it shows up on your desktop, you should be able to open the icon, then drag the files to the trash and empty the trash.

Is this an SD card from a camera? If it is and you want to remove all of the photos from it it's best to reformat it while in the camera.

Otherwise you've already been given the instructions you need to delete files.
