Charging Complete Notification

Why haven't software developers for Apple and others, thought of programming/equipping the phones to notify us when charging is complete, like with a chime, so that the phones are not left plugged in excessively. We sometimes forget we have left them charging. I hope to see this feature on the next update, if it is possible.

"Responsible enough?" Since you do not know me or what I am dealing with in this body I exist in, I choose to ignore that unpleasant tone. Firstly, I am new to iPhone (just 3-weeks old). I have always been with Samsung and have always wished they had the feature to chime when the phone is fully charged. With the Samsung I did set myself a reminder but if I was off on estimating the time it would take to fully charge from the level the battery is at that point, I would have to set a new remind to finish up the charging. I could do the same with iPhone but a chime to let me know when it is fully charged would be better. Additionally, I some time set my phone to charge before going to sleep;

sooooo, although I may be close enough to check it, I doubt I am able to

practice being responsible when I am on the second round of dreaming.

:-). And, I do not have a wireless charger and do not see the point of buying it for solely that purpose. But, I do thank you for taking the time to respond and sharing some ideas.

I’m pretty sure that with wireless charging, the device stops charging when it reaches 100, but since it’s still connected, if you leave it on the charger, the battery drains a little between 100 and 99 and it just keeps going back and forth. This isn’t efficient and I don’t know if it’s good for the device’s battery, but you should be responsible enough to check your phone’s battery when it’s charging, cause if your close enough to hear a chime, you should be close enough to check yourself. You could also just say “Hey Siri, remind me in 1hr to check my battery”, and she goes, “Ok, I’ll remind you”, and your phone goes “DING!” and you check your phone.

Apple has already introduced that feature in iOS 14 within the Shortcuts app's Automation section – and it's very easy to set up:

Intro to personal automation

Setting triggers

"The Battery Level trigger has the following options:
Equals: Triggers your automation when the battery percentage equals the value set in the percentage slider."

...nichel: You can set that percentage slider to 100% and configure your personal automation to, for example, play a chime via Shortcuts' "Play Sound" action and/or have Siri speak a phrase of your choosing via the "Speak Text" action. And much, much more. To learn about Shortcuts' many actions, start at the beginning here:

Just to let you know, I didn’t mean anything badly nor did I know your backstory w/ iPhone. I simply did not know about the shortcuts thing and I apologise if upset or angered you in any way, I only meant good, and I don’t really mean anything I say in detail, but still, I apologise for anything I might’ve said wrongly. And like I said, the thing with the wireless charger is not efficient, and I read afterwards that the charging port closes all the same with the lightning cord, and it keeps draining due to oxidisation, etc and keeps going back to 100.
