Running iOS 14 on my iPhone and TvOS 14 on my Apple TV.
I recently upgraded my Apple TV and when I use screen mirroring, keyboard and/or Airplay I see my new Apple TV as well as my old Apple TV.
how do I hide or remove the old one from the list?

The list should reflect what is detected at that very moment. Could it be that one or more in the list are devices at your neighbors, with unfortunate access rules?
i should also note that I “cleared” the Home App and am paired with the new Apple TV.

Oh understood. It could be that a neighbor had the same name as my old device.
