I have a magic trackpad that was once paired with a MacBook Pro, but now using it for another MacBook Air. I disconnected from the original MacBook but it seems to be reconnecting on its own when i. try to use with the MacBook Air.

The device remains connected until you remove it. To remove a device, Control-click its name.

After you remove from your Mac, shut down your Mac.
Then restart the Mac.
See if that helps.
Otherwise, remove all bluetooth devices instead of just the one that always reconnects. And repeat the shutdown/restart.
I have done remove, but for some reason it still reconnects. Thats my issue.
