Switching Carriers without losing Messages and Texts ?

I have an unlocked iPhone 11ProMax and will be switching to a 12ProMax. I will also be switching carriers from AT&T to Verizon due to my needed coverage area.

I can perform the switch now or wait until the new iPhone arrives.

I back-up my iPhone locally to my MacBookPro.

Will I lose any data including the years and years of history of Messages and Texts along with associated photos, links, locations, etc.?

Is there a way to preserve those before the switch?

Thank you kindly for any help or insight you can offer.

Hi there SDPhotoGuy,

We understand you have a question about restoring your data to your new iPhone 12 Pro Max after changing carriers, and we'd like to share some resources that can help.

First, learn about backups for your iPhone here: About backups for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

If you're concerned about preserving voicemails, you'll also want to make sure to save those separately: Save and share Visual Voicemail messages on your iPhone

This page may also help: Transfer data from your previous iOS device to your new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

We hope this helps!
